Now it's pushing 7 months since I had the surgery, and the scars are fading nicely. I am very pleased with the way things have turned out, and I expect the scars to fade to white eventually. These three photos were taken on 5/25/02, just four days after my last follow up visit with Dr. Mirzai.
The above picture shows where the tummy tuck and thigh lift scars intersect, and it was there that I had the only real problem with the incision. After the non-dissolving sutures were removed, the wound began pulling apart at the bottom peaks of the "W" of the tummy tuck incision. Luckily I was numb so it was not painful, only nasty to look at. After a couple weeks the openings closed, but with more scarring than I had wanted.
The side view shows the recent minor revision that I underwent on April the 11th. This was done on both sides (the small upturn at the end of the incision) to get rid of a dog ear and a bulge.
The picture below shows the back part of the thigh incisions. I am leaning forward in the photo, and when I stand up straight, the scars are hidden in the skin fold. I have displayed these rear views not only because it is difficult to find pictures of thigh lifts, but next to impossible to find any of the actual scars. It seems that thigh lift scars are a big concern, but I don't think mine turned out bad at all.
